The Helping Hand.
Night time harvest outside my bedroom window
In an attempt to track down some rather large waves for a project i’m starting I ventured to the coast , as the wind was blowing, only to discover it was off shore meaning not many if any waves of note. During my brief stay however I did have a friend join me who agreed to pose. Well who am I to refuse. After all he looked like he knew what he was doing. I have a feeling he does it for all the tourists. As for the seagull, well he was just lurking like they do.
Well , its been quite a hectic start to the summer with a days shoot with student actors in London allowing me to do some serious practice with 10 sessions in one day and all the editing that when with over 1,000 images taken on the day.
Lots of projects still on the go and most if not all of those, I hope to complete and get into book form . Even if it’s just for my personal gratification, I need to finalise what I start as otherwise I’ll find myself drifting from set goals. I also plan to take my licentiateship with the RPS this year. After that the following year I’ll try the same process with the BIPP and if successful can then go on , if I wish to do a 3rd year BA hons degree with the qualification gained counting for the first 2 years. That’ll be some commitment from my side especially as I genuinely feel this is likely to be a serious hobby rather than a profession long term. But having some qualifications behind me will at my age , feel good I have to say. Makes a change from those school days , being forced to sit exams in subjects you have no interest in or are ever likely to use.
As said I am always on the look out for people to sit for me . The more I do the more adventurous I need to become . That doesn’t mean anything uncomfortable for the sitter, just experimenting with ideas and I look to expand my experience and scope in this wonderful world of photography.
